Calmer Winds, Higher Humidity Should Help Firefighters

According to the news and weather reports, the fires should soon be completely under control as a change in weather brings warmer temperatures, but with that change also comes higher humidity and lower winds. I hope that the fires are brought under control soon, but I also know that large fires create their own climate and winds.

The picture is from the Orlando Sentinel, illustrating how people are fighting to save their neighbors’ homes from the fires with shovels, water hoses, and with buckets of water carried in when the water lines are shut down.

It’s going to be our turn to fret Swamps. Highs in the 100s for about 3-4 days and winds 30+ mph. I’m keepin my fingers crossed. Time for Deadliest Catch. Check back in a bit.

Now that IS worrisome. Your dry season is a lot longer than ours, too.

This mini heat wave is a bit early, but last year we were lucky on the 100 degree days, not too many. Maybe we’ll get back to those frog chokers we used to have during the summer months. Frog chokers here are just light rain for you.

Heh. Yeah, a heavy rain here looks like somebody turned a firehose against the windshield.
