What Happens When Criminals That Commit Multiple Offenses Are Told “No, Bad Criminal” Instead of Getting Real Punishment
JACKSONVILLE, FL – The home on Nussbaum Drive was only temporary for Gilberto Larios.
The 23-year-old from Fort Myers was grateful for his friends hospitality and was working hard to get his own place.
He was sleeping on the couch around 1 Wednesday morning when three people barged in the door.
“I heard a bunch of gunshots going off,” says neighbor Jenine Stone.
Stone says the shots and squealing tires woke her up and she ran outside.
A few seconds earlier and investigators say she might have run into Shameen Dean, 29, Dewayne Randall, 35, Hope Rappold, 26, and 17-year-old Jessica White.
Homicide Lt. Pat Ivey says Rappold and the two men were inside the westside home, while the teen stayed in the getaway car.
Although White stayed in the car, Lt. Ivey says all of them are charged with home invasion and murder because they were all there for the purpose of committing a robbery in which someone lost their life.
Larios died of multiple gunshot wounds a few hours later at the hospital.
Two other people inside the home were robbed of their money.
Jenine Stone said, “This is crazy and this is really sad. These people are so nice to everybody.”
Arrest reports say the four spent the man’s money on beer and crack cocaine.
Lt. Ivey says that later that same day, some leads led them to White.
“Patrol officers came in contact with her and during their contact with her she made the statement that she had information in regards to it and it went from there, and it went very quickly,” said Lt. Ivey.
Investigators believe one of the women has a connection to the home’s previous owner.
All four have criminal histories and police say all four have taken away a young man’s future.
The State Attorney will decide whether to charge White as an adult.
What this story doesn’t go into is how the man was shot and killed because he didn’t speak English and didn’t understand what the gunmen were demanding of him. Was he an illegal immigrant? I have no idea, but I wouldn’t be surprised. They’re all over the place.
A young man who worked hard and saved what little money he earned was shot and killed because a crack whore with a lengthy arrest record wanted to rob a former owner of the house. All of the thieves with her had lengthy criminal histories, including the one that sat in the car.
Until our “justice” system quits treating human scum that the police bring in as though justice is a catch and (immediate) release system, turning them right back out onto the same streets where they committed their crimes, we are not safe. Not even in our own houses.
And people wonder why the folks in the poor neighborhoods won’t talk to the police. The police won’t be there tomorrow. The criminal that the police inquired about will, whether he is arrested or not.

Waking up to subfreezing temperatures and wind chills guaranteed to make Yankees start singing songs about winter wonderlands is not my favorite thing.
I could understand this in February but in November, we’re supposed to be outside deep fryin’ that turkey like God intended and eatin’ at the picnic table while we speculate about when the first cold snap will arrive.
