So why am I posting this on our nation’s birthday? I’m concerned about the state of this country. A female politician has just been hounded from office by evil, mean-spirited attacks on her children and family. Repeated (baseless) ethical charges have cost her family over $500,000 in legal fees. Of course, all were dismissed. The people filing them knew them to be baseless. They were just trying to impoverish her family and teach her a lesson about not running for high political office. I believe the message was supposed to be that she needs to stay in the kitchen instead of aspiring to higher political office.
I don’t care for that at all.
A “universal health care” bill is being rammed through the government. It isn’t about health care so much as it is about limiting who gets health care. If you are too old, you won’t get treated. If you are too fat, you won’t get treated. Your doctor doesn’t get to decide. A bureaucracy will. This will be worse than any insurance company because you and/or your family won’t be able to sue if you are denied lifesaving drugs or treatments. I don’t want to hear any crap about what a wonderful thing socialized medicine is. Just look at the scandals in the VA system. Look at NHS in England, where to save money, they don’t wash sheets between patients but turn the sheets over instead to save money. The senators, congress, and president don’t care about what kind of care you get, they’ll be getting far better care courtesy of you, the taxpayer.
Doesn’t seem right to me.
A carbon cap and trade bill has been passed in the congress on the pretense of ameliorating “climate change”. Bullshit. Carbon dioxide is PLANT FOOD. Remember plants? They produce oxygen. Plants are STARVED for carbon dioxide. They do best at 1,000 ppm or greater. Of course, even if Americans are stupid enough to pay taxes that bring their price per gallon to $8.00, that doesn’t mean the rest of the world will jump over THAT particular cliff that kills manufacturing like a bunch of lemmings. No, they won’t, and have already said so.
Cap and trade, my ass. It’s the American Impoverishment Act. Makes me wonder who is getting paid off by which foreign government to vote for this. We know that the politicians haven’t even read the damn bill, so they must have a reason for voting for it. Obviously it isn’t for the good of the country. They’re getting “campaign donations” and many of them have skin in those same cap and trade schemes. It will make Al Gore into a billionaire. It’s for the good of politicians, not the good of taxpayers, not the good of the country. Anybody that voted for it is a thief and a liar.
There are a lot of things going on in the government that I don’t like. The collusion between Democratic officials and the press that guarantees that the press isn’t free but a mouthpiece of the Democrats. The use of ACORN and fraudulent voter registrations to swing close elections. The ridiculing of people that have actual moral standards. Using the press as a willing tool to attack/demonize people that have dissenting opinions.
That doesn’t sound like liberty to me. That sounds like tyranny.
I think it is time, once again, to review this section of the Declaration of Independence:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
It seems to me that we’ve reached that point. We have government collusion with bankers that are stealing the taxpayers blind; indeed, we have government officials handing them money with no questions asked and worse, we’re not told where the money has gone. We have government officials actively campaigning to kill the American economy (but not the Chinese, Russian, or Indian economy). Only the American economy. We have government officials deciding which car you will drive and whether or not you will be treated if you become ill.
I think it is past time for another revolution.
