Hurricane Season Ends, Fire Season Begins

Hurricane season brings us much-needed moisture, and my pastures have been mighty dry lately. My ryegrass isn’t growing in the dust, and I don’t want to spend $60 per week on hay!

There is supposed to be some rain coming our way later this morning if it doesn’t bypass us to the north. Anybody know the steps to a good rain dance? And would I get points for aerobic exercise for a rain dance?

It just never ends for you down there, does it? I live up here with the Indi….Native Americans, and even they can’t make it rain. Redding set a record high yesterday @ 77 degrees. I’ll see if I can dig a little deeper for those dance steps. 😉

Well, we’re getting a steady light rain now, so that will settle the dust somewhat. Going to be another cold week.

Maybe running back and forth cooking while watching for tornadoes is a good rain dance replacement.

I’ll need to adapt that for the west coast. Earthquakes would be the obvious choice, but it’s hard to look for those.

Oh, snap. I don’t like earthquakes. I’m always afraid that an earthquake is go ing to happen right when I’m on one of those crazy under or overpasses in CA.

They don’t give much warning, but it sure clears out the arteries!

Hey swampie, here’s some humor you’ll enjoy. Redneck Photo Album

Damn. I like that school bus.

I like the Harley lawn mower, too, but I generally just open the gate and let the livestock trim the yard.

I just might be a redneck.
